Project Overview

The City of Walnut will begin construction on the Grand Avenue and La Puente Road Intersection Improvement Project on Monday, October 6, 2025. Work is anticipated to be completed by the end of April 2026 and work hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. This project will upgrade traffic signals, improve drainage, reconstruct sidewalks and curb ramps for ADA compliance, and enhance roadway safety.

As part of the initial work, the existing monument sign and several trees at the southeast corner of Grand Avenue and La Puente Road will be removed to accommodate a new dedicated right-turn lane. Future improvements and beautification of this corner will be incorporated into any future development project at the site; however, no such project has been approved at this time.
