November 3, 2026 Municipal Election Notice

The City of Walnut City Council is comprised of five Councilmembers elected at-large for four-year terms. The next General Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the election of two (2) City Councilmembers. Upcoming information will be post in April 2026.


Eligibility for City Council Candidacy

To be eligible to run for City Council, candidates must be legal residents over the age of 18 residing within the City of Walnut’s incorporated boundaries and be a registered voter in the city at the time nomination papers are issued.

Voting & Election Information

Requirements for Registering to Vote:

  • A United States Citizen and resident of California

  • At least 18 years of age or older on or before Election Day

  • Not currently in state or federal prison or on parole for the conviction of a felony, and

  • Not currently found mentally incompetent by a court law
