Linda Freedman was elected to her second term on the City Council in 2024. Before she was elected to the City Council in 2020, she served on the City of Walnut Parks and Recreation Commission and has also volunteered in a variety of capacities throughout the City. Linda spent her career as a public school teacher in the Walnut Valley Unified School District.
Council Member Freedman serves on multiple boards and commissions. She was appointed as a commissioner on the Local Governmental Control Services in 2020 by the League of CA Cities. She also was appointed to the LA County Library Commission by Supervisor Solis. She is a member of the Foothill Transit Board and League of CA Cities Board. She also serves as a member of the SGVCOG.
Linda has lived in Walnut since 2004. She has been married to her husband, Mike, for 38 years. She has 3 children who are all married and is looking forward to the birth of her first grandchild in June.
