The City of Walnut has developed the Business Security Improvement Program to help protect small businesses from crime and vandalism. The purpose of the program is to improve public safety by strengthening security among the Walnut Business community.
The program will provide one-time Grant funding up to $3,000 to reimburse small businesses for the purchase and installation of security improvement equipment and technology, such as security cameras, alarm systems, and shatterproof film, that will have a general public benefit by helping to make the City safer.
Please submit your applications via email to aramos@cityofwalnut.org.
In partnership with LASD, the City of Walnut has developed a "Business Watch Handbook." This guide was designed to help businesses enhance security, prevent crime, and foster collaboration with law enforcement and neighboring businesses.
Similar to the Neighborhood Watch Program, but tailored for commercial settings, it provides best practices for crime prevention, emergency response, reporting suspicious activities, and improving workplace safety.
The handbook includes guidelines on surveillance, employee training, cybersecurity measures, and strategies for creating a safer business environment. By following the handbook, businesses can proactively protect their assets, employees, and customers while contributing to a more secure community.
