Transportation
The City of Walnut is conveniently located near the intersection of the 57, 10, and 60 freeways, just 20 miles east of downtown. The City is served by the Foothill Transit bus system and is located within a mile of the Industry Metrolink station. LAX and Ontario International Airport are both within a half hours drive.
The City also offers a local transportation service to get residents around town and to special service areas. The City’s Dial A Cab transports residents anywhere within five miles of the City and is accessed by calling the Dial A Cab number for pick up. Foothill Transit Passes
The City of Walnut offers it residents discounted 31 day passes for travel on Foothill Transit operated buses. These passes are rolling 31 day passes starting from the first date of use. Passes can be purchased at Walnut City Hall located at 21201 La Puente Road, Monday through Thursday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

MTA EZ Pass
The EZ Transit Pass, which is good for unlimited travel on 22 transit agencies throughout Los Angeles County, including Foothill Transit can now be purchased at Walnut City Hall located at 21201 La Puente Road, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Participating agencies include: Antelope Valley Transit Authority, Burbank Local Transit, City of Commerce, Culver City Bus, Gardena Municipal Bus Lines, Glendale Beeline, LADOT, Long Beach Transit, Metro Bus and Metro Rail, Montebello Bus Lines, Monterey Park Spirit Bus, Norwalk Transit, Pasadena ARTS, Santa Clarita Transit, Santa Fe Springs Metro Express, Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus, South Pasadena Goldlink, Torrance MAX, and Torrance Transit. A premium pass may be required for travel outside your local area, check with your local transit provider.

Metrolink Pass
“Metrolink monthly passes for the Riverside Line (Industry Station on Brea Canyon Road to Los Angeles Union Station) are sold at a discounted rate to Walnut residents. Passes can be purchased at Walnut City Hall located at 21201 La Puente Road, Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm.
On Wednesday, September 10, 2014, the Walnut City Council took action to adopt Resolution No. 14-46, establishing the Metrolink subsidy at $32 per pass. This subsidy increase will take effect beginning with passes sold for the month of October.

The Metrolink "After Hour Sale" at Senior Center is discontinued due to Metrolink changing to the new Metrolink Quick Card Program. With this new program, residents will have the convenience of mailing order and payments. Park & Ride Lot and Carpool
The City of Walnut encourages commuters to carpool whenever possible, it reduces pollutants and traffic. If public transportation is not an option for your morning commute, park your car and share the driving with a co-worker or neighbor. The City’s Park & Ride Lot is located on La Puente Road at Gartel Drive and is available to the public at no cost.
