The 10 member Youth Advisory Commission plans events and recommends policy to the City Council regarding the City's teens. The Commission meets on the second Monday of each month at 5:00 p.m.

The Walnut City Council consists of five elected council members selected by the residents of Walnut. City Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m.
The Traffic Safety committee meets to discuss traffic safety matters for the City of Walnut. The Traffic Safety Committee meets every second Wednesday of the month at 9:00 a.m.
